Jabsons Gud Chana is a popular traditional snack bought for its sweet, honey-roast flavour and cultural familiarity, especially as a religious offering or everyday munch. The ingredient list is refreshingly short, and the product carries no preservatives, artificial colours, or artificial flavours — real positives. However, the addition of dextrose (pure glucose, GI ~100) on top of jaggery means 40 g of sugar per 100 g of product, of which ~19 g is added sugar, making this a high-sugar snack that warrants caution for diabetics, children, and heart-disease patients. The 'Low Fat' claim on the pack is not supported under FSSAI norms (which require ≤3 g fat/100 g for a solid food; this product has 6 g), making it a false claim. The single most useful thing a consumer should know: this snack is far higher in sugar than its traditional, wholesome image implies.
