This product is bought primarily by parents, health-conscious cooks, and sugar-reduction seekers looking for a minimally processed whole-food alternative to refined sugar. It does exactly what it says on the tin: 100% dried Arabian dates, nothing else. The most useful thing to know is that all the sugar it contains is naturally present in dates — not added — making it a genuinely clean swap for white sugar, but one that still delivers real sugar (principally glucose and fructose) and therefore isn't calorie-free or suitable for unrestricted use by diabetics or IBS sufferers. One note of caution: the per-100g nutrition figures (38 kcal, 9 g carbs) appear inconsistent with known date powder values and may reflect per-serving (10 g) data mislabelled during OCR intake — the actual caloric density of date powder is approximately 280–310 kcal per 100 g.
